With our state of the art computerized batching facilities, S. D. Ireland can ship concrete to your project with our fleet of more than 50 concrete mixers. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality concrete for your project based on the contract specifications.
Our ready mix concrete is a mixture of cement, water, and aggregates. The most important element of the mix is cement which acts as a binder and creates concretes resistance. Aggregates such as sand, gravel, and crushed stones make up roughly 60 to 70 percent of the mix increase concrete’s durability or shorten its setting time. Water is a critical part of the mix. It sets off a chemical reaction when it comes in contact with the cement. Lastly, solid or liquid additives are introduced to ready mix concrete before or during preparation. These increase concrete’s durability or shorten its setting time.

- 2500 to 5000 psi ready mix concrete
- State of Vermont Class AA, A, B and C mixes
- Lightweight concrete including 3000, to 4000 psi mixes
- Admixtures including synthetic and steel fibers, chloride and non-chloride accelerators, and colors
- Cement pump services: S. D Ireland offers nine concrete pumps available in sizes of 28, 32 and 39 meters

- 100 Grove Street, Burlington, VT: serving Chittenden County
- 21 Short Road, Berlin, Vermont: serving Washington, Orange, and Caledonia Counties
- 189 Stafford Avenue, Morrisville, VT: serving Lamoille and Orleans Counties
- 65 Demers Drive, Swanton, VT: serving Franklin County
For larger projects, we also have a portable batch plant which can be set up on or near your project location to reduce unit transportation cost.
