The Severance Corners Village Center project is now underway.  The project located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Blakely Road and U.S. Route 7, is a three phase real estate development project. The development is intended to result in a compact mixed use village, complimented by public amenities, open space and a cohesive site and building design.  The goal for Severance Corners Village Center is to build a mixed use community that will reflect the traditions of the villages and small towns historically developed throughout New England.

The first phase commencing immediately will consist of the construction of 4 mixed use buildings due to be completed by Dec. 1, 2006.  Full buildout of the project is estimated to be completed in 2009.  The four buildings will surround a village green.  The “village’ will have a “New England” feel using traditional wood framed construction and will carry with it the flavor of a small New England village.  At the village’s center will be a green with gazebo contributing to the village center feeling.  Parking will be located behind buildings rather than in front to contribute to the village feeling.  The site is composed of 36 acres, only 24 of which are to be developed, the remaining land will remain open for recreational use.  The mixed use ratios are intended to become 50,000 SF general office space,  25,000 SF  retail space,  10,400 SF  restaurant space and 152 units residential townhouse/condominiums.  The development will have three access points, two off of Blakely Road and one off of US 7.
